Us modern day princesses unfortunately don’t have a lot of occasions to wear exquisite and high class ball-room gowns, as much as the ladies in the earlier centuries did… But we can’t deny that even though unwearable in many occasions the respect and worship of these pieces of art are very much still with us! In those times these dresses cost as much as houses, people would prepare for months, and for a more modern occasion like for the 1951 Beistegui Ball for example. There will never be more romantic as a beautiful gown, and a gown like this can take a woman into a place of pure fantasy… For the lucky ladies of modern day royalty that have an obligation to wear these pieces of art at black and white occasions, which they attend much more often than the rest of us, have a distinct memory of their first great ball gowns and they tie powerful memory’s to these dresses, and treat them as important historic stamps in their lives, because that’s just us girls

The novelties of one generation are only the resuscitated fashions of the generation before last.

I read poetry on an every day bases, quotes and poems can express every day or emotion individually. I would of course recommend this to you all! I chose this poem for this post because for some reason it really reminds me of the aristocratic fashion of the 17th century, especially based in French history (which I will be writing about in a few days)… It explains how our every day life and trends are all based on our history, it just all spins back in a big circle.
