Boracay, nature’s macaroon

I like winter, well you know, when I’m on a mountain skiing and enjoying time with my friends in front of a warm crackling fire. But I must say, I had to be a runaway and flee to the Phillipines for a few weeks last winter to shorten the winter season. A couple of days in Manila for shopping and museum sighting, and then a 3 hour flight to heavenly Boracay. The island is totally wild, the greatest joy was not seeing a car for 10 days:) The feeling is wonderful, it is perfect for all ages, if you’re a wild 20 year old wanting crazy night and wonderful sunrises on the beach, a honeymoon couple or vacationing with your kids, everyone will be apsolutley over the moon. I was there on new years eve, it was so wonderful to see so many people on the beach watching the fire works, people of all races, smiling and dancing bear foot on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

I bet lots of you are like me, you run away somewhere on a quick holiday, and you’re apsolutely fascinated by that city for the next month, and you crown it your favourite place in the world. Well, that’s me anyway, I get insipred and emotional quite easily . But if your similar to me, I think that’s just exquisite, because those are the joys of life… A tingle in your stomach when it’s a warm summer night an your on your way to a night on the town, the inspiring feeling you get when you watch the sunrise, the joy you feel when you discover something remarkable about yourself… Well,I must say, I have to confide in you my favourite city in the world, seriously this time . London has a huge place in my heart for personal and obvious reasons of course. No amount of rain or fog can come close to diminishing the effect the soul of London leaves on you. The jitter, the movement, the elegance, the old school glamour, it is really exquisite and it just brings you back to a different time. The thrilling history, which of course is the best thing about Europe , every city you go to has a story of it’s own… This was a few months ago, I was blessed with 5 days of sunshine in London in a what is supposed to be a rainy monthJ The street fashion there is ofcourse the best in the world, especially when the people are more inspired and the sun comes out, and they’re all standing around the street with cold beers, the vibe is incredible.

I’m the kind of girl that likes to be ultra comfy when travelling and walking around all day, so I always pick something very “normal”, which is not at all frequent for me :)

A quick pic from the Museum of Fashion…. Yup, went there as well :)

The Tate, you can’t see anything if you don’t spend a whole day there :)

Côte d’Azur…

As you know, I am partly French, I love my French roots. My grandma Meme was the most original lady I have ever seen, and probably one of the lasts, unfortunately this kind is almost extinct. Part of my family lives in Nice, Antibes… My favourite cousin with his 2 angels of daughters, and I miss them dearly… So every chance a get to spend a part of my summer there, I use it. It’s a special place for me, I call it home away from home. I spent a lot of my childhood dancing around in ballerina shoes around the parks in Antibes, and buying seashells with my mom on the coast shops in Juan Les Pin. The last few days I spend floating around Monte Carlo, words can not describe that small piece of heaven. I am always personally fascinated at how some countries can save and cherish at least a fraction of the elegance that their country preserves, even with our world changing every day and modernizing in every minute. That’s all we can really do, cherish what we represent in the best of ways.

On the road to Nice!

The re-birth…

Montenegro , where the summer is reborn

After living in Asia, in the tropics, I had a wonderfull refreshing feeling being near to the Balcanic sea and European coasts which are totally different. I go to Montenegro quite a few times a year, it feels like home… Ah, but going for the 1st of May holiday, is something really special. It’s my favourite time of  year and what better place to spend it then at the seaside, when the smell of the salt is in the air, the beaches are newborn, it’s washed away all last years troubles and faults, and the sun is young and mild on your skin. There are no big crouds, no loud noises, just you and the ocean.
